About Mechanical Engineering Department

Mechanical Engineering is one of the major activities in the engineering profession and its principles are involved in the design, study, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems. Continued research and development have led to better machines and processes helping the mankind.

One among the first three departments to be established in 1994 in the institute, the Mechanical Engineering Department of CE Adoor has had the reputation of being among the finest in the country and is dedicated towards the advancement of technology and science. Keeping itself up to date with the latest developments and trends in the field with a team of well qualified, dedicated faculty specialized in the major streams in mechanical engineering; the department constantly strives to provide world class facilities for learning and research. The faculty supports and nurtures the creative endeavours of the students through mini projects, Industrial visits/training and other activities.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers a 4 year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) program in Mechanical Engineering with an annual intake of 120 students and a 2 year Master of Technology (M.Tech) programme in Thermal Engineering. The courses offered in the department are affiliated to the Cochin University of Science and Technology.
